International and Exchange Students

Exchange Student Program

At Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, we’re proud to welcome a diverse community of exchange students from around the world. Located in the heart of small-town Missouri, our liberal arts campus offers a unique and enriching experience for students from various countries and cultures.

Each year, we host students from countries like England, France, South Korea, Japan, and many others. These students come to Ï㽶ÊÓƵ for a semester or academic year through our reciprocal exchange partnerships with universities worldwide. They study a wide range of disciplines, including Psychology, Political Science, Mathematics, and Global and Transnational Studies.

Exchange students at Westminster come to the U.S. on F-1 student visas and pay tuition to their home universities, while enjoying the full campus experience and access to our academic resources.

Our Exchange Student Program fosters cultural exchange, broadens perspectives, and builds lasting global connections.

Exchange Student Application Process

Applying to Ï㽶ÊÓƵ as an exchange student involves a few essential steps to ensure a smooth transition and experience. Follow the steps below to get started:

Step 1: Receive Nomination

Before you can begin the application process, your home institution must nominate you to participate in the exchange program. This nomination must be received officially before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2: Apply Online

Once nominated, complete the online application by the specified deadline. Make sure all fields are filled out accurately to avoid delays.

Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents

Along with your online application, you’ll need to submit the following required documents to create and issue your Form I-20:

  • Financial Resources: Submit the Exchange Student Statement of Financial Responsibility, along with supporting documents like bank statements showing funds equivalent to the amount required in Westminster’s International Exchange Agreement.
  • Copy of Your Passport: Provide a copy of the biography page of your passport, which includes your photo, name, and date of birth.
  • Desired Major: In your essay, specify at least one desired major. Note that “Undecided” is not an acceptable choice for the I-20 application. Click HERE for a list of all available majors.
  • Immunization Records: While immunization records are not required for the I-20, they must be submitted before attending classes.

Once all documents are submitted and reviewed, we’ll issue your I-20 Form to help with the visa process.
