Sarah Koestner graduated magna cum laude from Westminster in 2014 after double-majoring in accounting and business administration. From 2010 to 2014, Koestner played a pivotal role in the College’s cross country and track teams: She currently is the only Blue Jay in the cross country program's history to earn First Team All-Conference honors all four years of her career. Additionally, she was named to the 2010-2019 SLIAC All-Decade Team.

In 2013, Koestner was instrumental in the women’s first SLIAC cross country championship win. In her track career, she set record times in multiple events and received numerous All-Conference awards. After graduating, she followed her interest in accounting and earned her designation as a Certified Public Accountant. Koestner has since built a diverse career spanning public accounting, corporate accounting, and banking, with her work taking her to locations ranging from small-town Kansas to the World Trade Center complex.

Along her professional journey, she has connected with Westminster alumni from various generations, creating meaningful connections along the way.

Hannah Marshall was a standout on the women’s volleyball team at Westminster during all four years she played on the team. She graduated from the College in 2018 with a degree in exercise science and minors in nutrition and public health, going on to earn her master's degree in athletic training from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, where she also served as a graduate assistant for the women’s volleyball team.

Marshall’s coaching career has included positions at Trinity International and Lincoln College with the men’s volleyball program. She currently is a rising star in the coaching ranks as the head women’s volleyball coach at William Peace University in Raleigh, North Carolina, which she joined in 2022. Marshall has already led the William Peace program to record-setting seasons and multiple conference tournament appearances. Marshall also coaches a national team, as well as trains multiple teams as a pod leader, at Carolina Advantage Volleyball.

While at Westminster, Marshall was named the 2015 SLIAC Player of the Year, was a SLIAC three-time First Team All-Conference selection and member of the SLIAC All-Decade Team. She holds multiple program records, including most career kills (1,317) and career service aces (248) in the rally scoring era.

In 2023, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recognized Marshall as a 30 Under 30 recipient. She currently serves on multiple NCAA and AVCA national committees.

Josh Moore was a standout student-athlete at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ, earning a 3.6 GPA as a biology major while leaving a lasting legacy on the football field. A dominant defensive force, Moore holds records at the College for sacks in a game (3.5, achieved twice), and he remains the career leader in both sacks (22.5) and tackles for loss (42.5). He was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection and earned UMAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2005, Lineman of the Year in 2006 and COSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2006. He also helped lead Westminster to three UMAC South Division titles (2003 to 2005) and back-to-back UMAC Championships in 2003 and 2004.

Moore’s drive and discipline carried into his professional life, where he has excelled in leading organizations to optimize end-user support and deliver strategic service programs. His career began with global companies such as Ecolab and has evolved into building a national service platform at CFS Technologies. Moore’s work enables food service and retail brands across the United States to access innovative, reliable maintenance solutions.

Moore lives in Toledo, Ohio, with his fiancée and five children. He enjoys CrossFit with his daughters, traveling for his son’s soccer games, and staying active enough to keep up with all of them.

Josh Thompson graduated from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ in 2000 with a BA in sports medicine and education. He then went on to earn an M.Ed. in health promotion from the University of Cincinnati in 2002. After graduating, Thompson began his career as a head athletic trainer at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. In 2005, he returned home to Westminster as the Director of Sports Medicine and Performance, where he served until 2019. Since then, Thompson has served as the head athletic trainer for NCAA Division II Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri.

While at the College, Thompson served from 2008 to 2018 as the governmental affairs chair for the Missouri Athletic Trainers Association, playing a key role in drafting the Missouri Concussion Statute that passed in 2011. He received the CUATA DIII Head Athletic Trainer of the Year award in 2016, as well as the 2015 William T. Griffin Award for Legislative Advocacy. In 2019, Thompson received the NATA Service Award.

Thompson’s favorite Westminster memory is working with an incredible group of student-workers and interns during his 14-year tenure.

The 1999 Westminster Women’s Volleyball team made history with a remarkable season, finishing with a 23-6 overall record and an undefeated 14-0 mark in SLIAC play. Under the leadership of Head Coach Melinda Washington — who was named SLIAC Coach of the Year — the team earned the program’s first-ever bid to the NCAA Tournament. Their postseason run ended in a hard-fought 3-1 loss to national powerhouse Washington University, but the season marked a turning point for Westminster volleyball.

The team’s success was fueled by strong individual performances, including four players earning All-Conference honors. Jennifer Whitaker ’00 and Dala (Reuter) Freesmeier ’00 were named to the First Team, with Whitaker earning SLIAC Player of the Year. Reuter set a Westminster record for most blocks in a single season with an astounding 225 — a record that still stands.

The 1999 team combined talent, leadership, and resilience, setting a new standard for excellence in the program. Their achievements paved the way for future success and remain a proud chapter in Westminster’s athletic history.

The 2009-2010 men’s basketball team etched their place in program history with a remarkable 20-8 overall record and a dominant 13-3 mark in SLIAC play. Their season was highlighted by capturing both the SLIAC regular season and conference tournament championships, marking the first conference tournament title — and NCAA tournament appearance — under Head Coach Matt Mitchell.

Coach Mitchell’s leadership earned him the SLIAC Coach of the Year honor, underscoring his ability to guide the team through a highly competitive conference schedule. Key performances fueled the championship push, including standout efforts from All-Tournament selections Kurt Kovach ’12 and Ky Millard ’11. With their historic run, the 2009-2010 Blue Jays set a new standard for excellence in Westminster basketball. Their conference sweep and NCAA berth remain a proud milestone in program history, remembered for teamwork, determination, and championship pedigree.

The 1999 Women’s Volleyball Team

Sarah Elizabeth (Miller) Tannehill is an RN-Clinical Informaticist at SSM Health in Jefferson City, Missouri. Prior to her position at SSM Health, she worked as a Scientist of Immunology at the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Tannehill graduated from Westminster in 2003 with a degree in biology and went on to earn a BSN-RN at the University of Missouri in 2013. As a Blue Jays volleyball player, Tannehill received the Most Improved Player award, which focused on heart and hustle.

Tannehill’s husband, Kelly, is the Director of Information Technology at Special Olympics Missouri. The couple proudly married at Westminster’s St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury, 13 years ago. Tannehill’s daughter, Ariana (20), is a biomedical engineering technology student at State Technical College of Missouri. Her stepdaughter, Sabrina (28), works as a consultant for Ernst & Young in Copenhagen, Denmark.

After graduating from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ in 2002, Melynda (Harris) Genta began working in the financial industry, where she has built an impressive 23-year career. Over the course of her professional journey, she has held a variety of leadership roles that have allowed her to contribute to the growth and success of her organizations while mentoring colleagues and guiding teams toward their goals.

Genta and her husband, Tyson, make their home in St. Louis, where they are raising their two children. Family life is at the center of everything she does, and she finds joy in supporting her children’s interests and activities. A lifelong athlete, Genta has stayed connected to her love of sports by coaching her son and daughter in both volleyball and basketball. These opportunities have allowed her not only to share her knowledge of the game, but also to instill lessons of teamwork, perseverance, and confidence in her kids and their teammates.

Reflecting on her Westminster experience, Genta values the education, friendships, and opportunities that shaped her personally and professionally. She remains proud to be part of the Blue Jays community and grateful for the foundation Westminster provided in preparing her for success.

Casey (Lionberger) Zastrow graduated from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ with both a degree in business administration and decorated athletic career. As a standout volleyball player, she earned the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year award, was named to the All-Conference Team four times, including two First Team selections, and was honored as the 2000-2001 Westminster’s Female Athlete of the Year. She was inducted into Westminster’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016. A member of the prestigious 1000 Kill Club, Zastrow still ranks among the program’s best for solo blocks in a match, total blocks in a match, service aces in a match, and solo blocks in a single season. She played a key role in helping the 1999 team earn a national tournament bid. On the basketball court, she also earned a Second Team All-Conference selection during her two-year career.

After graduating from Westminster with a degree in business administration and finance, Zastrow continued playing competitive volleyball and later coached her daughter’s club team, staying connected to the sport she loves. She lives in Washington, Missouri, with her husband Josh, Class of 2002, and owns and operates her own insurance business. They have two children: Olivia, a current Westminster student; and Owen.

The 2009-2010 Men’s Basketball Team

After graduating from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ in 2011, Justin Gilmore began his career in education and coaching with Fulton High School. He is entering his 14th year with the Fulton boys’ basketball program and has spent the last 11 seasons as the head boys basketball coach. During his tenure, he has developed strong relationships with his players and community while building a program centered on growth, teamwork, and accountability.

In addition to coaching, Gilmore is a dedicated teacher who has impacted countless students over the past 14 years. He takes pride in mentoring young people both on and off the court, striving to help them succeed not only in athletics but also in life.

Gilmore and his wife, Haley, recently welcomed twin daughters this spring, joining their 3-year-old daughter to make a busy and joy-filled household of five. Family is at the center of Gilmore’s life, and he enjoys spending his free time with his wife and girls.

Gilmore remains grateful for his Westminster experience, where he built lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for his career in education and athletics. He continues to represent Blue Jays values through his commitment to teaching, coaching, and community.

Mark Wright is in his fourth year as a social studies teacher and the junior varsity basketball and football coach at Parkway Central High School. Prior to joining Central, he spent a decade at Francis Howell North High School, where he also taught social studies and served as head boys basketball coach and head boys golf coach.

A standout student-athlete at Westminster, Wright was a team captain of the Blue Jays basketball team and earned SLIAC All-Academic honors. He played an integral role during one of the program’s most successful eras, helping lead the team to two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and history from Westminster and a master’s degree in school administration from Lindenwood University. He lives in St. Louis with his wife, Megan, and their son, Max. Reflecting on his time at Westminster, Wright credits the relationships, mentorship, and competitive experiences he gained as a Blue Jay for shaping his career and leadership style. Today, whether in the classroom or on the court, he strives to instill the same values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance that defined his own student-athlete experience.

Skyler Tolson graduated from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ in 2013 with a degree in sports management. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. Tolson is a Restaurant and Hospitality Technology Consultant.

James Hays graduated from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ in 2012, where he was a member of the Blue Jays men’s basketball team. During his playing career, he contributed to a conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA National Tournament — experiences that sparked his passion for athletics and leadership.

Following Westminster, James pursued advanced education and earned a master’s degree in athletic administration from William Woods University. He went on to spend the next 12 years in the college basketball coaching ranks, where he mentored student-athletes, developed competitive programs, and built lasting relationships across the collegiate athletics landscape.

Recently, James transitioned out of coaching and began a new professional chapter with Sportradar, where he works as a production operator. In this role, he remains closely connected to the world of sports, applying his knowledge and experience in a new way while continuing to contribute to the game he loves.

Hays and his wife, Markayla, are the parents of two children, Grayson (7) and Emory (3). Family is at the heart of his life, and he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids whenever he can. Hays remains grateful for his Westminster experience, which provided the foundation for his career and lifelong friendships.

Stan Crawford graduated from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ in 2011 with a degree in business administration. While at Westminster, he was a two-year member of the Blue Jays men’s basketball program and contributed to one of the most successful stretches in team history. During the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons, Crawford helped lead the Blue Jays to back-to-back regular season conference championships, the 2010 SLIAC Tournament Championship, and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Individually, he earned Second Team All-Conference honors both seasons, was named to the All-Defensive Team twice, and was selected to the 2010 SLIAC All-Tournament Team.

After graduation, Crawford launched a career in finance and currently works in Chase Wealth Management with JP Morgan, where he assists clients in achieving their long-term financial goals. He has built a career rooted in service, leadership, and the same dedication that defined his athletic career at Westminster.

Crawford lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife, Danielle. Away from work, he enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, and supporting athletics at every level. He credits his Westminster experience for shaping both his professional and personal life, instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance that continue to guide him today.

Kelsey Weymuth is a Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ graduate whose career has blended professional achievement with family tradition. After earning his degree in accounting and business administration, Weymuth became a Certified Public Accountant and began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, gaining valuable experience in the corporate world. Eventually, he returned home to join the family business, where he now works alongside his brother, Kyle, managing the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealerships in Sedalia, Missouri.

Weymuth’s time at Westminster was marked by success both in the classroom and on the athletic field. A member of the men’s basketball team, he helped lead the program to four consecutive conference tournament championship appearances, capturing two titles and securing national tournament berths in those seasons. Those experiences instilled in him the values of teamwork, perseverance, and leadership that continue to guide his professional and personal life.

In 2014, Weymuth married Ashley, who he met during their time at Westminster. Together, they are proud parents to two daughters: Hadleigh, age 6, and Oakleigh, age 1, who keep life lively and full of joy.

After graduating from Webster Groves High School, Adam Mallette attended Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ, where he earned a degree in business communication. A proud member of the Kappa Alpha Order, Mallette formed lifelong friendships and was deeply involved in campus life. He played basketball for all four years as a Blue Jay, met his future wife, Karri (Birch) Mallette ’10, and remained an engaged and supportive alumnus.

Following graduation, Mallette built a career in marketing and higher education. He worked as a digital ads manager for Woodruff, a marketing agency in Columbia, Missouri, and previously held positions with Bucket Agency and in Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ’s admissions office.

In 2023, Mallette died tragically after experiencing an anoxic brain injury, the cause of which was never determined. His legacy lives on through a scholarship established in his name at Westminster and a granite bench placed in front of the College’s Historic Gymnasium. Karri and their son, Mavric, and his father, Kent, will accept his Hall of Fame induction posthumously, honoring a life marked by friendship, dedication, and love for his alma mater.
