Men’s IFC recruitment is a dynamic system. With two forms of recruitment (formal and informal), the Interfraternity Council (IFC) strives to provide an organized and effective way for a prospective member to become a member of an IFC fraternity at Westminster. The intended outcomes of formal and informal recruitment are the same: to showcase the values and principles each organization upholds. Each fraternity has their own core values so the recruitment process provides an avenue for a prospective member to determine if an IFC fraternity is right for them.

Registration for Formal Recruitment for Fall 2025 is open until Aug. 27, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.

Recruitment FAQs
Joining a fraternity provides each member with a group of friends and brothers that can help students adjust to life on campus. Fraternity members are involved in many organizations, participate in philanthropy and service events, and enjoy building relationships with their fellow fraternity members.
Absolutely! IFC chapters accept individuals of all academic class levels as long as they are an undergraduate, full-time student.
On the last day of formal recruitment, individuals will receive bids from their respective chapters. Following the acceptance of the bids from a chapter, the individuals will begin the new member period for the chapter. Each chapter’s new member period ranges in length and topics.
Each individual who is participating in the formal recruitment process will be assigned to recruitment counselors, which are called Majors and Minors. The Majors and Minors assist in the logistics of the recruitment process. They walk with the prospective members to each of the fraternity chapters and provide information and answers to recruitment questions throughout the process. In addition, the IFC executive board are IFC advisor are also available for support in the recruitment process.
Prior to the formal dates of recruitment, there will be specific IFC approved events for each of the respective chapters on campus. During this time, the prospective members and active members have the ability to get the know each other and have conversations. This helps the prospective members to gain a better understanding of each individual chapter and connect with the members.
